Genie wears many hats at Courtney and Morris, where she began her career in high school, working for her father, Joe Courtney, Sr. typing reports on the IBM Selectric, using lots of white-out. Genie graduated from McGill-Toolen and Auburn University, and later earned a Master’s degree in Instructional Media and Educational Design from the University of South Alabama. Genie has extensive experience as a Media Specialist in the Baldwin County and Decatur City School systems. After taking time off to raise her two children, she became the Youth Services Director at the Fairhope Public Library and later served as the Director of the Magnolia Springs Library. During this period, Genie also played a role in her family’s business, Courtney and Morris, by spearheading their marketing and social media efforts. Her innovative strategies and understanding of digital marketing contributed to the firm’s growth. Genie transitioned to a full-time role at Courtney and Morris, where she not only continued to lead marketing but also expanded her responsibilities as a licensed realtor. Genie’s dedication to providing exceptional service and her ability to connect with clients have made her a valuable asset to the Courtney and Morris team.
